Risk Disclosure Statement
Published on: 2022/11/13 13:28Last Update: 2025/01/01 15:36

All terms used in this Risk Disclosure Statement have the same meaning as those defined in the CoinW User Agreement (hereinafter referred to as “we” or “CoinW”).

This Risk Disclosure Statement aims to inform and warn you of the risks associated with digital assets, trading, and other related activities.

Before using CoinW’s services (including web and mobile platforms), you should carefully read this Risk Disclosure Statement and ensure that you fully understand the relevant risks. If you have any questions, it is strongly recommended that you seek professional advice first.

The risks listed in this document are not exhaustive. You should carefully evaluate your financial situation and risk tolerance before deciding whether to invest in digital assets or use CoinW’s services.

1. Market Risk

The prices of digital assets are highly volatile. Investing or trading in digital assets involves extremely high risk. Digital assets are traded 24/7 without price limits. If you are unable to effectively manage risks on your own, you may suffer partial or total loss of your funds.

2. Regulatory Risk

Digital assets are not issued by any government, financial institution, or CoinW. Most digital assets are currently unregulated, and their value and price are not controlled or protected by central banks or other financial institutions.

3. Leverage and Liquidation Risk

Trading digital assets and derivatives carries significant risks. In particular, trading digital asset derivatives involves high leverage, which can lead to rapid gains or losses.

If market movements go against your position, you may incur substantial losses. Depending on the loss amount, you may need to add more margin or reduce your positions. Otherwise, your positions may be force-liquidated, and you will bear all resulting losses.

4. Irreversibility & Account Security

Most digital asset and derivative transactions are irreversible. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and liable for all transactions under your CoinW account, whether or not you authorized them. Losses caused by fraud or unauthorized transactions cannot be recovered.

5. Technology Risk

CoinW’s services are built on computer networks, blockchain technology, and other foundational technologies. These technologies may face failures, defects, hacking, exploits, errors, protocol failures, or other unforeseen risks.

6. Tax Risk

You should be aware that any profits gained from trading digital assets or derivatives may be subject to taxes, tariffs, or other fees in the relevant jurisdictions. You are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes that may arise from using CoinW’s services. If you have any questions regarding your tax status or obligations, you should seek professional tax advice. CoinW does not provide investment, legal, or tax advice.

7. Legal and Compliance Risk

Trading digital assets and derivatives may be subject to laws, regulations, and policies in different jurisdictions. Before investing in digital assets or using CoinW’s services, you should understand the legal and regulatory requirements applicable in your trading location. If our provision of services is deemed illegal in your jurisdiction, CoinW has the right to suspend or terminate your account or restrict your access to CoinW services or digital asset trading to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

By using CoinW’s services, you acknowledge and confirm that you are fully aware of and understand the risks disclosed in this Risk Disclosure Statement. You agree and understand that you shall bear all risks associated with using CoinW’s services and other risks listed in this statement.

These risks are not exhaustive, and you should carefully consider your own financial situation and risk tolerance before using CoinW’s services. If necessary, you should consult a professional advisor. Any losses resulting from these risks will be borne solely by you.
